Mr Gérard Fortin founded Marina Fortin in a modest fashion. Indeed, he rented small cottages and row boats. He was also responsible to ferry the tourists who wanted to visit Fort Lennox on Ile-aux-Noix. In 1959 Mr Fortin sold his first boat: a 14 foot runabout which was priced at $ 400.00.

Estimated at $ 50 000.00 in 1960, our turnover approached half a million dollars in 1979 and today reaches fifteen million dollars. Indeed, when you visit our showroom of 30 000 square feet, built in the 90's, you will see boats valued up to one million dollars.

Since its foundation, Marina Fortin has been awarded more than 100 trophies by different boat and engine manufacturers. For many years, Marina Fortin was number one in Canada for Sea Ray sales. In addition, in 1992 and for many years to follow, Sea Ray ranked Marina Fortin number one Worlwide for Service, Reliability and Customer Satisfaction. In 2000 we kept the same title with a customer satisfaction rating of 3.93 out a possible 4. The majority of our customers are from the Province of Quebec but we also have a few in the Maritimes and in the United States.
